The highlight of Day 8 at the Gods of Poker was the Main Event, where an overlay on the $500,000 guarantee had already come into focus. After the final flight concluded, the total tally was 289 entries, with 41 players securing their spot at the ITM stage.
As expected, the most popular heat was Flight D, which boasted the most flexible structure on offer. The flight drew 111 entries with 15 players earning their spot at Day 2. By bagging time, Vietnam’s Le Ngoc Khanh ruled the roost with a fortress amounting to 2,172,000, that's equivalent to 108 big blinds!

At Flight E - the final flight - the battle for a spot at ITM was fierce and long that by bubble time, the average was just 14 bb. The unluckiest player was John Gallagher, falling on the stone cold Main Event bubble to India's Rohit who earned the flights' chip lead bagging up 2,000,000. Although that represented 40 bb at the end of the flight, it will be worth 100 bb at the start of Day 2.
Both Le and Rohit have secured the top two spots in Day 2. When all of the qualifiers return, each one is guaranteed a minimum payout of $3,380, that's more than double the buy-in, while awaiting the champion is a six-figure $109,540.
